VPNSetup Guide
Start in the user panel, add your subscription to a client, and check that the apps you need work. Skip any steps you’ve already completed and pick up where you left off.
Create an account and save your login details
Open the account creation page in the VPNTake user panel and enter a username and password. No email address is required. Your username will be used to sign in, and your password should be different from those you use on other sites. Submit the form as instructed, make sure you can open Account Overview, then choose a plan.
Before leaving this page, save your username and password in a password manager. Don’t rely on your current browser session: you’ll need your login details to access the panel again if you switch computers, clear browser data, or sign out. Don’t share your account details and subscription link in chat groups, either. Importing the subscription into a client only requires your subscription link; no one else needs your password.
If you don’t reach the panel after submitting the form, check for validation messages next to the fields. Fix issues such as a username that’s already taken or passwords that don’t match, based on the message shown. Don’t keep refreshing and re-entering your details. If you already have an account, use the “Log in” link on the right side of the navigation. You don’t need to create another account just to import your subscription on a different device.
You’re ready to move on when you can sign in and open Account Overview. Don’t worry if you haven’t seen any available servers yet—that’s not a reason to troubleshoot the client. Choose a plan first, then come back for your subscription. This keeps the process straightforward.
Try it for freeChoose a plan that fits how often you use it
After signing in, open the plans section of the panel and compare monthly subscriptions with data plans. Monthly subscriptions suit regular use: ¥9.9/month includes 60GB, ¥18/month includes 250GB, and ¥28/month includes 500GB. Data resets monthly on your activation date, not at the start of each calendar month.
If your usage is less predictable, compare the data plans: ¥158/300GB, ¥358/1000GB, and ¥658/3000GB. Data plans remain valid until used and never expire. Don’t choose based on price alone. Consider whether you’ll regularly stream video, use work tools, or connect only occasionally. Data use varies by activity, so this guide doesn’t estimate how long a plan will last.
Select the plan you want and check the plan name, price, and data allowance in your order before paying. VPNTake supports Alipay, WeChat Pay, and USDT. Choose a payment method that works for you; follow the amount, payment instructions, and next steps shown on the order page. Don’t assume an order is complete just because the payment page has opened.
After payment, return to the user panel and check the plan status in your order and Account Overview. If the order hasn’t been confirmed, refresh its status and check the payment result before doing anything else. Don’t place the order again right away. If you upgrade partway through a plan, the price difference is converted into remaining days. For details on how your bill changes, read the plan details before checking your order in the panel.
VPNTake offers a 7-day no-questions-asked refund. See the refund policy for the rules. Once this step is complete, your panel should show your active plan and its data allowance. Next, get your subscription.
Choose this planGet your subscription from Account Overview
Open Account Overview in the user panel and make sure your plan is active. Then find the subscription section. Your subscription gives the client access to the server configurations available on your account. It isn’t an installer or a webpage to browse. After copying it, import it into your client rather than repeatedly opening it like a regular website link.
If the panel offers one-click import for your client, install the client first, then return and select the matching option. Your browser may ask whether to open an external app. Check that it’s the client you installed before continuing. Once the app opens, look for a new configuration or a subscription confirmation and save it. Simply opening the app doesn’t mean the import is complete.
If one-click import doesn’t open the app, choose an option such as “Copy subscription link,” then select “Add subscription from link” in your client. Clear any old text from the input field before pasting. Keep the copied link intact—don’t edit its address or parameters, and don’t paste it into a name field. You can name the configuration whatever you like; the subscription link and its current status determine whether servers can load.
After saving, refresh the subscription and wait for the server list to load. A successful import shows selectable servers, not just an empty configuration name. If the update fails, check your plan status in the panel and copy the subscription link again to rule out an incomplete copy. See the connection and troubleshooting FAQs for help with specific errors. Avoid changing multiple advanced settings at this stage.
Keep your subscription link private, just like your account details. If you need to send a screenshot for troubleshooting, hide the full link, QR code, and account information. When contacting support, describe your operating system, the client message, and what you did. Don’t post screenshots containing your full subscription in public.
Open Account OverviewEnable your subscription in the client
Find the installer in the client section of the user panel; this page doesn’t provide direct download links. After signing in, Windows, macOS, Android, and Linux users can access the VPNTake client without buying a plan first. To load and use subscription servers, however, make sure your account has an active plan. The panel determines access for iOS; follow the instructions shown for your platform.
Choose the VPNTake client for your device’s operating system, then follow the import steps below. For your first setup, the client and import option in the panel are all you need—there’s no need to install several tools to try them out. If another network client is running, disconnect it first to avoid conflicts with system proxy or connection settings.
Windows: Add a link from the configuration section
Get the VPNTake desktop client for Windows from the user panel, then install and launch it as instructed by your system. Return to Account Overview and try the matching one-click import option. If your browser doesn’t open the app, look for “Configuration” or “Subscription” in the client, choose to add a new one, and import from a link. Paste the copied subscription link into the address field and save.
Refresh the subscription and wait for the server list to appear. Select this configuration, then open the server selection section. Some desktop clients also require system proxy to be enabled for browsers to use the connection. Follow the client’s default setup. Don’t start by changing routing rules or advanced network modes. First verify the connection, then consider those settings if needed.
macOS: Save the configuration and enable it
Choose the VPNTake client for macOS in the panel, install it, and open the app. If macOS asks you to confirm opening the app or grant network permission, check the app’s source and the prompt before continuing. Use the panel’s one-click import option or choose “Add from URL” in the app’s configuration manager. Save the subscription as a configuration, then refresh it.
When the server list appears, make sure the active configuration is the one you just imported, not an empty configuration created during installation. The connect option may be in the main window or in the menu bar. Find the start or connect command and enable the required network settings as prompted. If the app keeps running in the menu bar after you close its window, check the connection status inside the app rather than judging by whether the window is open.
Android: Import, then allow the connection request
Sign in to the user panel to get the VPNTake client for Android. After installing and opening it, start one-click import from the panel or choose to create a new configuration from a link in the client’s configuration or subscription section. Paste the link, save it, and refresh. Return to the home screen, enable the new configuration, then choose a server from the list. Make sure servers have loaded before connecting; don’t keep retrying with an empty configuration.
The first time you connect, Android may ask you to authorize a VPN connection. Check the app name and allow the request, then wait for the client to show a connected status. If the connection drops frequently when you switch to another app, check your device’s background activity and battery settings. Menu locations vary by device; see the help center for troubleshooting. You don’t need to change these settings preemptively if the connection is working normally.
iOS: Follow the panel instructions to get and import the client
Open the iOS client section in the user panel. Access requirements for iOS differ from those for other platforms: only accounts with a purchased, unexpired plan can access the actual download option. If the panel asks you to choose a plan first, return to the plans section. Get the client using the App Store link shown in the panel rather than looking for another source on a public page.
After installing the client, return to Account Overview and try the supported one-click import option. To add the subscription manually, choose “Add from link” in the client’s subscription or configuration section, paste the link, save, and refresh. The first connection may require permission to add a system VPN configuration; follow the system prompt. Once the servers have loaded, the configuration is enabled, and the connection is active, switch to your browser to check it.
Using Linux and connecting other devices
VPNTake also supports Linux. After signing in, choose the appropriate client in the user panel and follow its installation and import instructions. Unlimited devices means you can use the service on your own devices, but each one needs its own configuration import. A connection on one computer won’t automatically work on another.
Get the clientChoose a server and check that your connection works
Return to the client’s home screen and make sure the configuration you just imported is enabled. Choose a region from the server list and connect. For your first connection, keep the client’s default mode and check that basic access works. Region names help you choose a server; they don’t guarantee speed. Don’t judge performance by distance alone, or assume that a connected status means every service will work.
After connecting, reopen your browser and visit an international website or app you normally use. Check that the page loads and you can continue through the sign-in process. For apps that have been open for a while, close and reopen the relevant page to avoid stale session data affecting your check. If you mainly use AI tools or streaming services, test the service itself—opening a regular webpage isn’t enough to confirm that it works.
If something goes wrong, narrow down the cause in order. First check whether the client shows a server list. Then confirm that the right configuration is selected and the connection is running. After that, try another server. Change one thing at a time and note what happens before and after. If no websites load, disconnect the client and check that your local internet connection works. If other sites work but one app doesn’t, check that service’s account, regional availability, and current status.
A network connection doesn’t replace an account, paid access, or regional eligibility required by a service. Follow the relevant service’s terms when watching content or using tools. There’s no need to change system DNS, delete all configurations, or buy another plan just to troubleshoot. Start with the checks above to identify where the problem occurs.
If you still can’t connect, search the Help Center for your issue or use the support ticket form in the panel. Include your device’s operating system, client name, the step where it failed, and any error message. Before sharing a screenshot, hide your account details and subscription information so your report focuses on the issue without exposing your configuration.
You’re all set when the subscription updates, the client connects, and the apps you need work. To add another device later, repeat the import and connection checks. For more on choosing between IEPL dedicated lines, relay routes, and direct connections, read the cross-border network service buying guide. This page focuses on getting started, so it doesn’t cover protocol or routing details.
